ABOUT ME

I came to college twelve years ago as a national merit scholar to study orthopedic surgery. I played rugby for four years, then took a square job with a bank in the south. Then the universe decided to spin me on my head, and since then i have built my new life, what i call "Samuel-L-Jacksoning it" i.e. wandering around, just helping and meeting new people, and getting in adventures. I plan to take my "healer" position to the next level with formal education in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

PHILOSOPHY

I call myself a Happy-Time Missionary, I try to inspire others to be their absolute best, absolute happiest. . .by trying to do so myself and thus be another example.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As i am new on this network, i am coming to you as a surfer, and hopefully as a teacher/learner. As i learn more, i look forward to helping along this underground railroad of elevated souls. . .

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started in couchsurfing as a provider, mainly in college, and anytime I have had the oppurtunity since.
I am an experienced couchsurfer myself, going so far as to institute an experiment called "Couch Tour 2K5" in which I couch surfed for just one week short of six months, never staying at the same place twice (except on two occasions in which i was asked to stay another night for the benefit of the couch-holders, both instances playing the role of psychologist/counsellor)
Couch Surfing is a bit of a sport to a few high-level individuals i have met, i enjoy the sporting aspect (the challenge) as well as the person-to-person interfacing that results.

Interessen

First and Foremost, being at musical performances that inspire me to dance; my dance style is a fusion of Sufi dervish, pagan fertility dance, and hippie breakdance, plus whatever the music is commanding of my vessel at any given time. I am also a firebreather and firedancer, performing just last week for Bonepony's (nash,TN) new DVD.
I read, walk, talk, write, and think, A LOT. I am also obsessed with physiology and health. I meet new crazy people everyday, no matter where i find myself, i love the transfer of energy, new and old. I also love to cook, and though i am a vegetarian, i can cook flesh as good as any carnivore :), and I am not snobbish or squeamish about meat (I even occasionally eat meat to keep my system on its toes :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My favorite band is the Disco Biscuits, I also love (and try to see as often as possible): Sound Tribe Sector 9, Electric Sky Church, Brothers Past, Lotus, Les Claypool, Infected Mushroom, and about a hundred other musicians.
Basically, Music you can wear yourself out to.
I love to read, sometimes a lot and sometimes a little.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

So hard to pinpoint. . .
Rock-climbing in Red River Gorge (KY), being at the apex of one of the craziest rock formations I have ever seen and witnessing, for miles, nothing but raw wilderness and no humans from my perch on high. . .my words will always fail to capture that experience, which was just one of many awe-inspiring, mind-blowing experiences i have been so blessed with

Lehren, lernen, teilen

While my mind has always been my most prized asset, my hands are my best advantage. I have been a massage artiste for fifteen years or so, many of my beneficiaries (anyone who has ever needed my skill) call me "magic hands," never knowing that they weren't the first to say so. I absolutely do not rock the pervy vibe,
i consider massage a sacred gift between two beings to create physiological/psychological harmony: the recipient receives healing, comfort, and general well-being (not to mention higher energies,etc.) and the performer enjoys the giving of health and happiness, the sharing of energy, and in my case, relief from hand cramps, which i get if my hands aren't put to use.
I am skilled in carpentry and home maintenance, i compose music and dance. I have been a tutor of many subjects since early childhood, if i don't know something that someone else needs help with, rest assured i will either go learn it myself or soon find an even higher expert to resolve any problem. it is this attitude that has provided me with my plethora of skills in a variety of disciplines. Sometimes I dont bother with capitalization or punctuation :)
I talk a lot - but I also shut up and listen with pleasure.
