About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Use my authority as an MD to advise good health practices and represent a compassionate partner in self-care to populations who have few role models for this behavior.
ABOUT ME (-- I wrote all this stuff below >10 years ago, but I think it still applies, no new updates :D)
I grew up in Portland, OR, surrounded by bike paths, and now everyone acts like they're the hot new thing. Such is life! I love returning home to encounter how lovely the people are back in the PNW, and by 'lovely' i mean unfettered by the anxiety that seems to be broadcast from the street corners in many other parts of the country... but really, i have simply placed Portland on a solid pedestal and love traveling if for no other reason but to be reminded that every city could be on a pedestal to a native whose nostalgia keeps bringing them home.
PHILOSOPHY
I always paraphrase some advertisement from when I was in middle school, it went something like: Strangers are friends once you've introduced yourself. Also, be tactful, honest and confrontationally graceful
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My husband Dan and our roommate Julia and I love people and travel. We would be happy to host a couch-surfer every now and then.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted a few times in college (early 2000s), when my roommates were CS-keen. I just remembered that this community exists and thought I'd re-enlist.
Interests
Art, gardening, biking, running (relays!), ultimate frisbee, listening to travel stories, reading, baking bread pudding, floating down rivers, oh and studying until my eyes fall out of my head (enucleation)
