About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am a new father. My new and only mission in life is to ensure my daughter, Amelie, experiences as many different cultures across the world as pos. I have found that travel is the best way to learn, to empathise, to understand a different point of view

ABOUT ME

Quite a strong buddhist after living in Korea and Japan. I do believe in kharma and multiple lives. As a new father my need for more adventurous activity has subsided-maybe its just growing up? I live to travel and talk to new people with a different view to life, I live to eat great food from non descript places (preferably owned by a momma&poppa family), I live to drink great coffee from an equally non descript place. I live for justice in the world and hope to see some of it applied to those who struggle for it.

PHILOSOPHY

Vive la revolution. A new revolution with the same ideals: whether its cliche'd as liberte, egalite, fraternite or social justice or whatever badge you wish to use

Interests

Photography, foreign films (well, foreign to australia!), scuba diving, discovering the best ways to burp babies, anything in the ocean, hiking, most of all travel

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - genre of Air, Moloko, Massive Attack, and other shanti music. I'd admit to liking early Shakira as well. Also listen to a wdie range of classical and opera.
Movies - favs include The Dinner Game (France), Central Station (Brasil), most Luc Besson movies (The Big Blue, The Professional but not Fifth Element) and The Castle (Australia. a great documentary). Any Almodovar films.

Books - Noam Chomksy, Geoffrey Robertson, I'd admit my favourite remains The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho even though its now quite commercial. Second favourite is Siddhartha by Hermann Hess. Third fav is The Tibetan Book of Living and Dieing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning buddhism at various monasteries in japan, Korea, Cambodia and Laos.

Teach, Learn, Share

Mahayana Buddhism. How to look conscientious and hard working and yet actually being lazy and mediocre at work
