ABOUT ME

I'm from Alaska, big place it is. Very friendly and open sorta culture up here, abundant natural beauty, lots of outdoor recreation... I teach music and gig around town and record in my home studio. I'm a rather gregarious fellow and frequently surrounded by friends, especially when at home. I live with two other musicians and all three of us travel frequently with a touring Native Alaskan Tribal Funk band by the name of Pamyua.

PHILOSOPHY

Mine is a philosphy of action, mostly repetitive action, like strumming a guitar or left foot right foot.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time with hosting surfers conflicting with teaching private music lessons from my home. I'm changing my couch status to coffee and a drink. I hate to have to do that, but it's a little too odd for my students' parents to see a bunch of different unfamiliar adults around the place every week they bring their kids over. And it's a lot of work for me to police the cleanliness and presentation of the place. But I'm really into showing people around Anchorage!! We have a great network of bicycle trails in town, and world class hiking twenty minutes outside the city. I also play music with different bands in town and can usually suggest a good option for night life on any given night. I hope you really enjoy your time in Alaska and good luck!! I've been on both sides of this beautiful thing called hospitality enough times to know it's usually quite rewarding for both parties.

Not too long ago I watched an apartment-building sized chunk of glacier calve into the water not too terribly far from my kayak... scary but cool.
