About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Promoting ecologically resilient cultures through the sharing and stewardship of open pollinated seeds

ABOUT ME

We are a couple in our early 30's, living on the 30 acre farm in Crawfordsville, that we call home. We like the things most folks like: reading, biking, eating, sleeping, making music, saving the world... And also some geeky things like seed saving, plant breeding.

PHILOSOPHY

"Do what you can to be the change you want to see in this world (it's easier when you don't have kids or a mortgage)."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Seed Ambassadors Project! and Living in the villiage at Khok i Doi (which is the Thai idiom for "middle of nowhere" or "BFE")or six weeks in 2004. we helped establish a community garden, build several natural earthen buildings. We went red ant-egg collecting from tree nests with bamboo poles and frog hunting by the light of the moon (both frogs and ants are great sources of protein), learned how to make lip balm and tofu and lots of delicious thai food, ate water buffalo placenta stew, learned some thai, as well as how to communicate without language, made great friends, and supported people as they built their community.

Teach, Learn, Share

gardening, seed-saving, food preservation, fruit tree pruning, composting, composting toilets, bicycle repair, some natural building (cob, adobe, wattle and daub), Thai & Mexican cooking, anything you want to know about garlic, guitar, brewing (beer, mead, etc.).
