About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We previously owned a beautiful home in southwest Fort Worth, and opened it up to the world in order to further the cause of world peace and cultural understanding, one couch at a time! We have since sold that home to our son who may choose to continue that tradition of hospitality as he has already participated in Fort Worth Sister Cities activities in which he has traveled to both Italy and Japan, as well as hosted young athletes from both countries, as well as visiting and hosting folks from Scotland. As a student in high school he was active in hosting many foreign exchange students from around the globe! Now, my wife and I have retired to the small farm on which I was raised outside Mineral Wells, Texas, where we own a modest brick home in the country. We have many projects to complete on the homestead before we will be ready to host guests on a regular basis, but I am in the market for an older RV (travel trailer or motor home) in which we can house our guests until those projects are completed so that guests may be welcomed into our home! Perhaps some guests might choose to assist in those projects in order to further our objectives of once again opening our home up to the world, and possibly even offering “house concerts in the country, the sounds of Southern hospitality” in furtherance of the causes of diversity, cultural understanding, and world peace!

ABOUT ME

71 yrs old, native Texan, married 44 years to Janice, who is from Scotland, with two kids, ages 40 & 39. We enjoy all things Christian, Scottish, Texan, soccer, and cruising the high seas! My wife and I are born-again believers in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and believe that genuine hospitality is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit! As such, we welcome dialogue with seekers and fellow believers, and open ourselves, and our home, up to further promote such fellowship! This is our ministry! Almost 12 years ago, my wife was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, so we have curtailed many of our passions for hosting others in order to focus attention to more immediate needs, both medically and financially, as well as practically, in order to cope with and adjust to this new reality! We have not given up hope for a solution to this dilemma, and have recently been encouraged by work done by Dr. Dale Bredesen, as revealed in his book entitled, “The End of Alzheimer’s !” We welcome anyone who is interested in or familiar with this disease!❤️

PHILOSOPHY

Christian, believing that we are not perfect, but forgiven, judging not, lest we be judged! Hospitality is listed as one of the gifts of the Spirit in the Bible...may we have open hearts and open homes!
