Because i'm a very curious guy, i'm always trying to reach a better understanding of this planet. The best way I've found to do that is to travel and meet people. I'll continue for ever.

ABOUT ME

Helgi: I'm a student. I am finishing my university sudies in cinema. I'm so tired of school and the routine its been keeping me in for the past 3 years that i found the way to finish university in the south of France. As many couchsurfers, I love to travel and especially staying for a long time at the same place until I get deeply into the culture. I'm always open to new experiences as much as doing sports for a week, reinventing the world in a pub or partying for a whole week end.

Émy: Après avoir fait un baccalauréat en études littéraires, je termine un diplôme en enseignement collégial, c'est-à-dire des stages et des cours de pédagogie pour enseigner à des jeunes d'environ 17-18 ans. Je serai donc enseignante sous peu. J'adore toutes les formes d'art, surtout la littérature (évidemment) et le théâtre. J'ai été très sportive,alors j'essaie de m'y remettre. ---- After my bachelar degree in literature, I'm finishing a diploma to be teacher of teenager around 17-18 years old. So I gonna be teacher very soon. I very like art in particular literature(obviously) and theater. I was doing a lot of sports, so I try to find some time for it.

PHILOSOPHY

Helgi : " Il n'y a que les cons qui ne changent jamais d'idées."
Thats what my great grand mother use to say: " Only idiots never change their ideas." Its a very simple saying, but it seems that I always come back to it. So many people are stuck on one directional way of thinking without even remembering why they think that way. Sure, I have principles, I have a cultural background, I have a certain idealism and it happens that I get scared of the unknown. But then i come back to what my great grandmother use to say very simply and I open my mind to learn from the others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Helgi: I was introduced to couchsurfing by a friend in NY and Washington in the summer of 2006. I had been many times in youth hostels all over the world, but discovenring couchsurfing opened my mind to another level of cultural experience.

Émy: J'ai couchsurfé dans cinq différents pays jusqu'à maintenant et je n'ai eu que de super belles expériences. J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer des gens ouverts d'esprit qui désiraient partager leur culture, qui nous ont présenté à leurs amis et qui ont contribué à ce que nos voyages à Berlin, à Varsovie, à Bruxelles, à Grenade et en Irlande soient une réussite.----------
I couchsurfe in five differents countries until now and I've been lucky to meet open-minded people who liked to make us discover their culture, introduce us to their friends and made our trip in Berlin, Warsaw, Brussels, Granada and in Ireland a success.

Centres d'intérêt

Helgi: I do documentaries. It's my passion. Will I live only by doing documentaries? I have no idea! But I know that I've been doing documentaries for the past 2 years often without being payed, and I still love it. So on that base, i'll always do documentaries. And i'll also always be interested by almost everything...

Émy: littérature, théâtre, arts, sports, histoire... J'ai fait l'année dernière mon premier grand voyage en allant étudier en France tout en découvrant l'Europe et j'ai vraiment attrappé la fièvre du voyage. -------literature, theater, arts, sports, history... I've done my first real big triplast studying in France and discovering Europe. I think I caught the fever.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Helgi: I can teach to the people that would like an introduction to the world of video camera, film analysis, scenario writing, editing on computer, etc...

Émy: Je suis plus intéressée à l'échange, à partager des expériences,des opinions, des intérêts et sutout, dans le contexte du couchsurfing, différentes cultures et différentes langues. --- I am more interest in the exchange between people. I like to share experiences, opinions, interests and, in the couch surfing context, different cultures and different languages.
