About Me

CURRENT MISSION

becoming a medical doctor!!!

ABOUT ME

After my graduation i decided that it is the right time for a little girl to see the big world. I started in September '06 in Mexico, USA, Fijis, New Zealand, Australia and finally Africa. After this big trip, there followed a lot of other trips to wonderful places, as Sweden, Nepal and South America... But there are still too many bald spots on the world-map, so it won´t stop anytime soon...

I graduated as a pediatric nurse and started studying medicine afterwords. I´ve been working on a oncological ward for a year and loved the work, which probably tells a lot about my character. My biggest whish for beeing a doctor is to take care of people and be there for them, even in bad situations, where there might be no therapy or cure anymore. I also hope to be able to combine my work with the passion of travelling.

Some people might say i´m a bit naive, but that is just because there were never any bad things happening to me. I stepped out into this big wide world and it welcomed me with lovely and helpful people (even in the poorest areas in Simbabwe) and breathtaking naturewonders. So one can say that i´m very positive thinking person, not trusting in the news flash but in my own experiences! And that makes me a very happy and stressfree person, just enjoying my life :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy the moment and don´t dream your life, live your dreams!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In couchsurfing I see a great opportunity to meet people from the country you are staying. Just go in a hostel in New Zealand or Australia and you will see, there are at least 60% Germans. That's just not, what you expect when you are travelling to the other end of the world!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

If I wouldn't have decided to couchsurf, I would have missed so much...It definetly helped to create the person I am today.

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: inception, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind; city of god; little miss sunshine; seven (and all the other psycho stuff)

BOOKS:
Frank Schätzing is one of my favourite authors (i think he´s got some magic powers, or he´s just really really clever, ´cause he can see things before they happen), Bill Brayson is incredible funny and Carlos Ruiz Safon has got the most beautiful way of describing details and takes you into a fantasy world full of power and true stories aout life and psychology...

MUSIC: acutally, everything I can dance on...and chill out as well...like to go to jazz festivals, festivals in total. music i don't like (might be easier): hard core techno

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I'm around, I'm seeing so many things, and I just cannot say, which ONE is the best, they are all different! But one of my highlights was arriving at the top of mount luxmore (1500m) in New Zealand, Te Anau!!!

dancing salsa on the zocalo in san blas, mexico, in the rain!!

wohoooo, kitesurfing in sydney (thank you rob) and diving at the great barrier reef!!! loved it!!!

going out with al and neil in joburg (didn't have so much fun, with so many good dancers since a long time)!!!

walking and climbing my way up to mount everest base camp!

celebrating carnival in Rio!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

couchsurfing means learning from the first minute you enter the home of your host...there is no better way of learning and experience another culture and totaly different lifestyle... i also hope, due to couchsurfing i can convince a lot of people, that the world is mainly a good world, that 99% of the people you meet want to help you and not do you any harm, that the world is not only what you see in the news every night!

i would love to learn or get better in spanish and frensh and if there is somebody who could teach me how to play the guitar - perfect!

What I Can Share with Hosts

a lot of travel stories, stories from the hospital, a lot of positive energy... I bet there will be more, if you dig deep enough ;-)
