Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. But, adventurous traveling, hiking, outdoor activities, photography, music and curious exploration has always been a passionate part of my life.
I was a corporate salesman for 16 years before taking the opportunity to leave my job to travel and see parts of the world that I've always wanted to explore. When I returned in 2009, I went to school to get my licence as a Massage Therapist. I have since been continuing to learn various massage and bodywork techniques and aligned modalities. I also work for an organization that teaches a course presenting the topics of mindfulness, meditation, stress reduction, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, a primary intention is to immerse myself into the country, culture and customs of the place I'm visiting. The best way to do that is by interacting with the people. If not through couch surfing, I tend to look for guesthouses or home-stays, so that I can meet local people, learn about them and share what I am able. My travels have been enhanced by people showing me the special places of their city that I would otherwise never experience, as well as giving recommendations for the onward journey. Occasionally, I will volunteer is there is an opportunity.
Meeting a person can turn into a friendship, and our lives can be mutually enriched by sharing time together.
