About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm on a mission to get around the fact that we will never meet nor see most of the people and places in this world.
ABOUT ME
Originally from the Boston suburbs, I moved to Denver in 2008 after graduating from a small college with a degree in Sociology. With an interest in the entertainment industry, I moved to Denver to work for a large international entertainment company and have been involved with television content and programming and also technology innovation. Outside of work, I'm a musician (guitar, piano, symphonic percussion), I enjoy traveling and cooking, and find that meeting new people often are most interesting experiences I've had.
While I miss being close to the ocean in Boston, I love the mountains of Colorado and spend most of my time in the winter skiing.
PHILOSOPHY
In life, there are no ordinary moments. I just try to recognize the significance of every moment I live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I still haven't really surfed, but I've been enjoying hosting for several years. I try to respond to every request and can almost always be counted on as a last resort, even if I can't commit to hosting initially. I'm still waiting for a bad CS experience -- can't believe that every surfer is simply amazing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The idea of couch surfing really hit home during my final semester at university. I needed to finish one more course to earn my degree, but couldn't afford to live on campus or in the college town. Instead, I lived out of my car and crashed on couches in dorm buildings or vacant beds when friends were out of town (or in someone else's bed). After 3 months of not having a bed or room to call my own, I was truly appreciative of what my friends and strangers had done for me. So, now I hope to be able to do the same for people who need a couch.

Music, Movies, and Books
Prefer non-fiction books and even non-fiction movies and TV. If I'm going to spend the time reading or watching, I want to learn something new.
My musical tastes are all over the place -- from bad mainstream pop that I can rock out to at 3am on my piano and wake up the entire building...to jazz, world, and folk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my final year of high school, I spent 3 weeks volunteering in Morocco with a non-profit called Operation Smile. Operation Smile provides free facial reconstructive surgery to children in the developing world, suffering with cleft lip and cleft palate. I taught nutrition, dental hygiene, and other health related materials to the children and their families...carried children with brand new smiles out of the operating room to their nervously awaiting parents...visited schools and orphanages...shared meals with doctors and nurses. It was the most amazing experience I've had and I'll always remember the smiles on the children's and their parents' faces.
