ABOUT ME
I love music with all my heart, especially the live stuff. I like it's universality (If that's that a word?) and how some of the best sounds are created by people who struggle in many other aspects of society. I play the drums, and I am a hack on the (rhythm) guitar.
I love heading down the coast to surf and camp on the beach and I plan to explore a lot more of my own country over the next few years. I have a little Fox Terrier X called Floyd who will be riding shotgun on these adventures. He's a champ, and definitely my best friend. I think I have more respect for animals than man, but meeting people who challenge this theory is always a welcome experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host, I surf, what goes around comes around you know.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It all started for me in Vancouver, BC. Since then, I've surfed my way across a large part of the US with some fantastic hosts and fellow travelers. This organisation is definitely bringing out the good in already generous people.
Interests
Heading into the bush with a swag on my back and appreciating the solace. Surfing the beautiful beaches of Victoria and sitting next to the fire with the sun setting over the sand hills, talking to my dog like he's a person.

Music, Movies, and Books
Quadraphenia is a great movie.
Pixies - "Surfa Rosa", Nirvana - "In Utero", You Am I - "Hourly, Daily", Yeah Yeah Yeah's - "Show Your Bones" and The Pogues - "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" are 5 albums I will listen to for the rest of my life.
Patrick Suskind's "Perfume" is one of the few books I've read more than once, and my favorite author is Augusten Borroughs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Yosemite National Park, California.
Teach, Learn, Share
Before I started CouchSurfing, I was living out of my van while traveling through the US and Canada. I bought myself a little single burner propane stove from a camping store for $15 and started preparing my own simple but hearty meals instead of eating out all the time. This saved me around $25 a day, and was a great backup to have for the times when I wasn't on someones couch with access to a kitchen.
