About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as far away with the least amount of money

ABOUT ME

I was born in Mexico City but moved to Minnesota 13 years ago. I am currently embarked in a mission of trying to reuse as much "garbage" as possible. I dismantle bike tires and inner tubes and transform them in objects that can be reused, such as messenger bags. I love fermenting foods and creating my own home brew. I am trying to decrease my carbon footprint as much as I can, either by commuting to work in my bike, or salvaging objects from trash.
My last crazy activity I have embarked on is worm composting. One of my friends gave me some worm to eat my garbage. I was awed at how much waste these little animals can process. I am proud to say that I recycle 80% of the waste we produced at home, and the rest gets compacted and sent to the incinerator.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't regret anything you do and travel while you can, and don't let opportunities go by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell all my friends and people I meet on the road how amazing CS is, and how many people I have met through this site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I was traveling in India for 3 months I decided to use CS as a mean to meet people, being my first time in India and not knowing a thing about the culture. I am very happy to say that I had only absolute positive experiences with all the people I met through CS. Out of 3 months, I CS 9 weeks in India and Nepal. I really enjoyed getting to see people's homes and how they go about their daily routines.

I have only hosted half a dozen of CSs in my home, well my parents home. Reason being that my mom was wary about the CS activity, she changed her mind after seeing how nice and interesting CSs can be.

Interests

Currently I am very into fermented foods, drinks and anything that can be fermented. I reuse and recycle as many things as I can. I love biking, trekking and anything that has to do with being outside enjoying Mother Nature. I love composting and worm composting all my organic waste.
