Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have traveled extensively, meeting and having been hosted by some truly wonderful people on CS. I have had a few guests of my own in my time at my old apartments, and now I've got my own new place which is ready to receive a guest or two.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted at my old home in Queens, NYC, and I have been hosted in Romania, Germany, Sweden, Latvia, and Holland. Every time, I have always been so happy with the wonderful new friends I have made.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently enjoying Yashar Kemal, Orhan Pamuk, and Tom Bissell as authors.

I love good independent music, Circulatory System, Olivia Tremor Control, Hawk and a Hacksaw, all sorts of beautiful music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I grew up in an aviary. I have explored the shipwrecks, stood alone on the precipice of the antipope, stowed away to Paris, been on a train that killed a man in Catalunya, nearly been killed myself in Brazil when I was young. I was in the city but not directly in the conflict zone during the Mumbai attacks. I am friend's with Dracula's neighbor, and fought a pack of angry wild dogs on a side street outside the Romanian Parliament. I shot 24 rolls of film over 24 consecutive hours in Istanbul.

Teach, Learn, Share

I tell stories. I'm well-versed in world politics, and I am happy to talk about politics in the US if asked (I could probably teach a course on the electoral college at this point!), and I can tell you about getting through the terror attacks in Mumbai. I'm getting decent at cooking a few Indian dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

India, United States
