ABOUT US

We returned from a major travelling trip a few years back and relocated to Sheffield in the North of England. Since then we've moved south, and now live just outside Milton Keynes. Mel works locally as a primary school teacher, Joe commutes into London working at a publisher.

We're both laid back, friendly people who enjoy eating and drinking and meeting new people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have shown people round Sydney, and organised some Sydney CS events. We also won the CS Australia Boxing Kangaroo award, for outstanding contribution to CS in September 08! How exciting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've met CSers throughout Asia and had some fab times. From Karaoke in Kyoto to Salsa in Singapore - we've done many things we'd never have done or known about on our own. In Sydney we have been to some great events - Paella party, DIY meal... Organised the first Sydney Sausage Sizzle and hosted the 70s Foodie Fondue night. We have also stayed with some cool people in Oz, NZ and America.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mel- I like reading trashy novels and a random variety of others - Time Travellers Wife is a fave, Wolf of the Plains, The Hobbit and LOTR. I like most music from Cheesey pop to Jazz to Classical. Films - My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, South Park the Movie, LOTR, Sideways, The Castle, Amelie, Enchanted, Back to the Future to name a few!

Joe - I like Bradbury, Asimov and the Red Dwarf book. I am also a BIG fan of Robert Rankin. Favourite films include Swingers, Dazed and Confused and Midnight Run. I like Louis Armstrong, The Stone Roses, Barenaked Ladies, Madness, The Fratellis, classic jazz, brit pop, and anything with a good tune.

Teach, Learn, Share

We want to learn how to cook in different ways. We know a bit about skydiving (but are just beginners really). Joe knows lots about using computers. Mel can juggle!
