About Me
CURRENT MISSION
This is a tale of mystery and imagination. 800 beers and 1000's of wargraves...
ABOUT ME
I'm a quite genious 😀😉 child of 55 years old that never feels lonely with about 6,5 billion people around me. Sometimes a bit ironic but always with a positive vieuw on the window "world", I live my life with joy and once in a while with some melancholy. But I like to solve things in a humouristic way and most of all : I LOVE PEOPLE !!
PHILOSOPHY
I keep it short because it's a favourite subject of mine. I believe that the most important in life is feeling a deep satisfaction about everything you do and have done. Never feel sorry about making mistakes, they help you creating your personality. If finally, at the end of the ride you can say : "it's been good", you have been succesful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
A friend in town told me about this project. I like to share things of beauty with others, wherever they are from, whatever is their nationality, religion, ideology or colour... So if this project didn't exist, I think I would have invented it !!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
June 2015 I 've hosted Emma and her friends. It was a short but wonderful time. I still love hosting !!!
May 2008, Joost from The Netherlands came over for one night in my couch. He had to see a festival nearby. Short stay, we've eaten good spare ribs and had nice conversation.
January 2008, I hosted Mathis and Donna Chazanov from Los Angeles for 3 nights. I will never forget our duck cooking experience and Donna will always remember the breakfast with beer !! It turned out to be a warm friendship, they were fantastic !! I'll meet them in L.A. one time !!
November 2007 : hosted Peter and Charlie (Pcaffable)from Melbourne Australia for several nights and showed them around. We had wonderful talks about life Down Under, here and everywhere !!
November 11th 2007 : Jeff and Rico from more or less New York City stayed at my couch for three nights. They visited the ceremonies remembering the end of The Great War (November 11th 1918). A lot of lovely beers have been drunk, not at least the best beer in the world (Westvleteren 12°) in the abbey. Anyway, the weekend went too fast and I enjoyed hosting such a great people a lot !! Thanks boys !!
I've hosted Nadine and Patrick from Canada and it was great to have them with me. Only hard to wake up and go to work the next day because it has been a long night...
I just hosted Tom for 2 nights and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The hours of talking with him have made my life much richer. I remember how he said : "Everyone should be a Couchsurfer !" That's a message, isn't it ?
I had my first couchsurfing meeting 7th and 8th of September. It was organized by Jasper and Steven, Myself, I did some logistics by car, hands and legs, also voice... Anyway, here in Roeselare, we played at home but met lots of very very interesting and lovely people. Thanks to all, hope to meet you again !!

Music, Movies, and Books
Not a movie freak but comedy can hold my attention for some minutes :-)
Really my taste : La Vitta è Bella, Babette's Feast, Apocalyps Now, Forest Gump... My darker side enjoys Sin City, Pulp Fiction and those cult movies. Also the Belgian film "BenX" is one of my favourites.
I play guitar and listen to every kind of music. I prefer French singer-song writers and classical music. But discribing the range of interests is impossible !
Special for you some of my tops : Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Francis Cabrel, Deep Purple, J.S. Bach, Dublinners, Jacques Brel, and so many more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The fact that I get out of my bed to go working, every day...
Very early morning, just sunrise, the trumpet of a huge elephant right in front of me in Kruger National Park
Teach, Learn, Share
1. I'm a skilled English teacher, so...
2. I've done already lots of things in my life and I've got my share of winning and loosing, so if someone likes some advice about lifestyle, I can be your coach. (Or do I sound big headed now ? :-)
3. Teach me !!
