Overview
About Me
Currently I am a vagabond with no-fixed address traveling around the world. Before starting on this adventure I was previously working as a social worker at a house for people that experienced mental illness and / or had addictions to drugs and alcohol. It was an interesting job and more inspiring than depressing as some people might expect, but the pull to see the world was too strong and so I left in August 2014 to take an extended trip.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The first time that I went overseas I spent most of my time mingling with other backpackers. It seemed hard to meet locals and those that I did interact with were involved either directly or indirectly in the tourism industry.
Participating in Couch Surfing has been a great way to break out of that trap and be able to connect with local people that are interested in genuine friendship and cultural exchange.
Since then I have hosted visitors to Melbourne, attended city meet-ups and have had the good fortune to have been graciously taken out for a meal or given a place to stay while traveling abroad.
