About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy life, see the globe, and help local communities/nonprofits become more effective, empowered, and ALIVE!!!!

ABOUT ME

For the past two years, I have been living and working in Guatemala as the director of a nonprofit called EntreMundos. (check out our website at www.entremundos.org). I have a master's degree in Urban Planning and Nonprofit Management. My passion is working with local communities and NGOs to help them identify potential resources and means of improving their services and overall mission.

I grew up in Seattle, WA and have been traveling for 10 years or so. Currently, I am "moving around" South America offering a series of capacity building workshops to local NGOs and community projects.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to learn, enjoy, and help others in their preceived (or real) pain and suffering. I think we all have the power to change ourselves, the world around us, etc. It's just a matter of deeply understanding this, commiting ourselves to the process....And gettin' to it....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it is a WONDERFUL way to get to know local culture on a more intimate and personal level.

Interests

I am interested in a variety of development issues at the local and internationl level (capacity building activities, etc.) However, I also like to have fun and enjoy cooking, drinking good wine, traveling, painting, and writing. I also love music, pirate culture, and having NO IDEA what I'm going to do next.

Music, Movies, and Books

I hate this question. Never know where to begin. My "likes" are varied and all over the place. Ask me in person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 weeks hiking in the Alaskan back country. I thought there was going to be a bear around every corner. Made me feel really little, insignificant, and humbled.
