Overview
About Me
I'm Sophie and I'm an Australian currently living and working in the land of the free with my lovely partner, Owen. At the moment I have a job in the video games industry however in the future I think I'd like to do something that didn't involve quite so much time spent in front of a monitor. I'm excitable and outgoing and generally pretty fearless. I like both dogs and cats and harbour a secret love of uncool community festivals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a pretty experienced couchsurfer at this point, having surfed and hosted a number of times. I also introduced my family to Couchsurfing - you can find them all through my profile!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done and seen many amazing things however I suspect the things that are most amazing in my opinion would be largely uninteresting to most everybody else. Spending a year at a Japanese high school with no other English speakers and initially being unable to communicate with anybody was an amazing but mixed experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're an English speaking Japanese learner I can tell you about the things that really confused me. I can also suggest places to go, things to do and food to eat in Japan. Otherwise, I can tell you what I know about the late republican period in Rome and teach you the basics of cross stitching. I may also beat you in trivial pursuit, but who knows? I used to play the violin but I'd really like to learn some more or learn some fiddle. Most of all I'd like to practice Japanese!
