About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We like to meet people from other countries and learn more about them and their culture.

ABOUT ME

We are a couple living together in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Keywords: enjoying life, travelling, great food and drinks, friends, music, books, movies, our cats, nature, 5 months in South-America!
Judith being an (arts and crafts-)teacher gives us lots of hollidays and Joris as a psychiatric nurse is flexible with planning the same periods free. Doesn't it make us a perfect couple?
Since july 2009 we got a beautiful son called Finn. Life changed a bit, but we still love travelling and go as much as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Free as a bird.
(With both feet on the floor you don't get that far...)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We like the idealistic idea of couchsurfing, get to know the people that are living in other parts of the world. Visiting them and experiencing their local habits, food and life in general.
Our couch available for people that are looking for the same experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Being in the Bolivian Jungle at Uschi's place. In a boat on the border river with Brasil, there showed up some dolphins, one even pink. We all decided to swim in this amazon river, with the dolphins come as close as one meter and jumping in and out of the water. A great show and unique experience, just somewhere in the wild. Only possible through couchsurfing.

Interests

We like travelling, hiking, wildcamping, great food, drinks, getting together with friends, books, music, movies, theatre on location, our cats and..... most of all our son.
Lately we are trying to grow our own vegetables and love the ones you can't buy in the supermarket. Also eating from the wild is quite appelling. In autumn the mushrooms & nuts like chestnuts and in spring tapping birch-sap. It's only a pity we don't live at sea because there twice a day at low tide.... dinner is served.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of music, I still like records more than cd's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Slept in a Beehive (traditional Irish hut) hundreds of years old. Because the storm was to wild for our tent.
The best things always come when everything goes wrong.

Teach, Learn, Share

Tour on Strijp-S, the terrain of an old Philips factory, just a 5 minutes walk. Where they have a movie-theatre, skate park, boulder-gym, restaurant, pop-stage and much more.

Maybe a short lesson in Dutch?
Picking Mushrooms for dinner?
Cooking together some international meal?
Tasting the Dutch "dropjes"?
Sight seeing Eindhoven?

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Panama, Peru, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela
