ABOUT ME

I live in Glenelg, a beach suburb of Adelaide which has all the amenities and attractions, bars, restaurants and shops. Oh and the beach of course which I am a few minutes walking distance.

I am also close to the tram which runs from Glenelg to the city.

To meet some amazing people that this world has to offer! We simply don't have enough time on this planet to appreciate everything and everyone, but if I can achieve even just a tiny bit of exploring and meeting people I will be a very happy chappy.

I am currently on a 9 month backpacking trip around Europe, North and South America.

For me, couchsurfing is a great community of like minded, caring, happy people and it's never too late to drop everything and go to the other side of the world and hang out with someone brand new and become friends with them. Conversely, being able to host someone from a country you may not have even heard of, let alone have ever visited will I think ultimately broaden your outlook on life.

My love for travel has always been strong from a young age. I love experiencing new cultures, however quirky they are. It could be the smallest, seemingly mundane thing or experience with somebody or somewhere new that makes me stop and think about my life and what direction I want it to go next!

Love the architecture of places as well as learning a bit of history of a place to appreciate what others before me went through.

I love going out and seeing new things so if you're around, we can go out exploring and enjoying the sunshine. I love the outdoors and atmosphere of summer evenings out, but also enjoying a quiet and relaxing evening. Depends on how we feel at the time I suppose!

I love photography (especially on my travels) and being able to capture a moment in time that is unique and that nobody else will ever be able to replicate..it feels very personal.

I also love languages and learning new ones (even if it is only a few words to get by and make someone laugh :) ).

Anything outdoors based I enjoy, particularly hiking, swimming, and scuba diving (although I have a long way to go to fully master this one!)

Love to cook when I have time, as well as trying anything new and different - I don't want to do my taste buds a disservice!

Alternative, jazz, world music - pretty flexible with my tastes, as often I will love something completely new to me depending on the experience I am having. Yes, even country music if the scene is right ;).

The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a cracking read of explorers seeking a new world shrouded in mystery. I also like Down and Out in London and Paris - a tale of desperate times in early 20th century England and France.

I did the Inca Trail in Peru in 2012 which was a brilliant experience of 'grime and punishment'. But well worth it.

Always wanting to learn new languages and cultures, even if it is only for a short time, it makes the experience even more worthwhile. If I can pass on anything from my Aussie slang then happy to do so!
