One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Hmm... well, maybe my best story involves backpacking through the Australian outback. First, let me explain that Australia is the driest habitable continent on Earth. Then let me explain that everywhere I went in Australia, and I mean everywhere, it rained. Torrential, record breaking, flood inducing rains. Even if I was only in a city for a couple of hours, it rained. And so I took a trip to central Australia to see Ulruru. This is the driest place on the driest continent, where it won't rain for years, and I figured, well it can't rain here right? So as I was hiking around the base of Uluru, I looked off to my left and saw a huge cloudburst weaving its way towards me from across the desert. And so I just stood there and let it wash over me, and when I looked up all the crevices on Uluru had turned into thousand foot high waterfalls. It was probably the most amazing moment of my life. It's also why my family nicknamed me rain goddess.
