ABOUT ME

All about Esteban... All right... You have time ? :D

Once upon a time, (no way, you can't write it.. you gonna scare everybody !.. Okay.. I warned you, do it.. I won't say 'I told you so') SO : Once upon a time... a young crazy boy appeared in this world.
He was a dreamer. Maybe (some people said) he was The One !
It happened in a country far far away (but not that far from here) where the weather is always great (especially for the crops) and where the landscape was (long time ago) full of dark forests, large fields, and happy happy people.
Those people were use to live their live in a total freedom. There were no one to tell what to do or where to go or when to be. They loved eachother, there was no currency, everything was for free. People just liked to give. They did not want to own the whole world for themself and did not need to rule the others and did not have a lot of belongings (everything was to everyone)...
Pollution did not exist and would never... People took care of their lovely planet and of the nature that provide them all sorts of gifts.
There was no war or cruelty, no hunger or misery
...All was Harmony...

It would be nice, doesn't it ? We still can do it !!!
Sometimes they organized huge meetings just for the pleasure to see eachother once more. During those meetings, they imagined some place where they could sit all togheter... (And that's how CouchSurfing is born !!! ;D )
The only rule was - and always be - LOVE !
And so, that little boy has been named Esteban. In his relatives, One was all for him. That one followed him whereever he goes. They seem to be inseparable, best friends in the world.

But some day, Sun disappeared. There were many clouds between them. So, Esteban ran accross the world. He looked everywhere, everywhen. He met lots of people, discovered love, but somehow, something was missing.

For the Greatest Good, he drowned himself into the innocence (that innocence that never ever left him, that child's ability of being amazed by every smallest things). In that innocent mind, Esteban had another very strange but amazing meeting... A party night, under a strange light, He showed up.

Eversince, they stick together.

Esteban enjoys now every day and every moment.
From adventure to adventure, he keeps dreaming about that country far far away where Life is no more an utopy.

You can recognise the guy when you meet him. He's free-spirited, smily, expressive, sensitive, spontaneous, self-confident, enthusiast,... Those are some qualities, there are many more to discover and also some defaults but I won't list them here (there are way too many :-D )

No rules, No plans for Esteban, he's not really the 'down to earth' or 'head on shoulder' kind. He doesn't care about money nor politics (but it can be a topic for your long talks!)

He enjoys to study ! Everything, everywhere, everywhen.. Learning from everyone!!!

Currently, he went back to school, studying tourism and working on a thesis about altenative tourism.
And passed, is now graduated in tourism.
He isn't working in that sector though... Esteban came back to his first passion, which is circus. So he's teaching aerial circus (trapeze, and tissu) and is in creation for fire show (swinging, poïs, staffs, and so...)
Now, He does take part to the world (and CS!),
acting against the global warming
and that individualistic and consumer society
trying to make it a better place
(for you and for me and the entire human race hahaha)....

You are The Magician
Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.
Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing,
you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.
The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

PHILOSOPHY

Dream your life and live your dreams!

Another one :

He did not know it was Impossible... So he did it !

And one from Amy :
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all the time...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't really travel for the moment (money money money...), but I will soon be back on the roads and hope to couchsurf a lot then!

Offering my couch and trying to convert roommates to become part of the surfing. (They like it already, just need to get into by themselves!)

OK... Now I am an Amb... So I guess I will get involved more and more into the project..

Always here for some help or advise. And will be present (that's new ? LOL) to CS meetings !

Welcome to anyone who read these words !!

* 9: I met again Jake from the meeting. It was one of those amazing meeting... It started just like any other meeting with a "where you from" thing. That guy come from Ukiah, Mendocino County, northern California.. You don't get it, it's normal! I explain: When I was travelling, I ended in a very small town called Willits, a town where I found a family and lot's of friends... And it is just north of Ukiah !! So now you get it. Jake was studying in Scotland for a year, I left Willits about 2,5 year ago and we knew same place, same people etc. We both got out of that meeting in kind of state of shock... What was the probability to meet someone who knew that small county? Thanks CS !!!
* 5: Great hospitality websites (cs, hospitalityclub, bewelcome, servas) meeting at the Monk Cafe. My first step into cs. I met great people and that gave me the hunch to get really involved. I started hosting then. I met Yelyam, Jamacod, Danizita, Donjacobo,..

7th Mars 2007
** I signed up on CS **

I host quite a few people now... I took part to several meeting in Brussels or other belgian cities...
I'd like now to know the other side. Have the opportunity to travel, surf some couches and take part to meetings in other countries.

Interests

Sports : swimming and bike - but only as a transport, not really biking for sport! ,
Circus : a little bit more than interest, mostly aerial things, practicing (but not as an artist) and teaching (what I did for a living)
Nature : Have a walk, have a look, at the night, at the sky, fo a sight, for a life... Right now, I am learning Permaculture's Design
Gardening and looking at my veggies growing up (nature's so amazing!),
Cooking : Love to cook but don't ask for my "speciality"... As I follow instinct and envy, can't do twice the same. And If I cook for you : don't look for the meat, I'm vegetarian!!!
Travelling : Moving around, discovering new cultures and new people, following a path (or not), following my instinct (or destiny ?), backpacking, sleeping in my hammock under the stars and the moon,
as I wrote upper, I haven't been travelling for couple of years now (except in my head) kinda pause time, love to have long talk about trips and experiences...
Spirituality : wondering, discovering, philosophying, thinking,.. about nature, life, energies, souls, minds and the world.
Talking : about everything, everywhere and everywhen (maybe sometimes too much?)..

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies, TV series, Books : prefer SciFi or Fantasy, Magic, spiritual... Whatever but don't like "real" stories.
Music : am very ecclectic, like the oldies jazz, swing, bebop, charleston, Benny Goodman especially but lots of others... then there were the 80ies (fall into when I was a boy like Obelix) but also into more "actual" musics as reggea-ska, latino-spannish rythmes, vocals (but no Dion or Fabian...) prefer "special" voices as the Wainwright family.

On my shelves :
* Bernard Werber, Dan Millman, Paolo Coelho
* David Eddings, Anne Rice, M. Z. Bradley
* and lots of comics, heroïco-fantasy kind

About movies/TV :
* lots of magical or surnatural things (TV series : Heroes, Supernatural, 4400, Dead like me, Charmed, Smallville, Kyle XY, ...)
* any comics adaptations (X-men, Matrix, Lords of the ring, Batman, Fantastic 4, Daredevil, Elektra, Constantine,...)
* some of last movies I saw ("non magic" LOL) : Cidade de Deus, The constant gardener, La belle verte (great movie with Coline Serreau), Pay it forward, Volver, The inconvenient truth
* last cartoons : Corpsebride, The Incredibles, My neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Kaena...
* Some directors : Pedro Almodovar, Tim Burton,...
