I'm a 26 year old high school teacher in the process of moving up from Stockholm to Falun.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a pessimist, but you probably won't notice it right away. I enjoy meeting new people and I can be very sociable. I like having discussions and environments where anything can be said. I like people who challenge my point of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted and surfed. Lately, I haven't been all that active on the website, but through the years I've had plenty of (happy) CS experiences. In Stockholm I like to meet up for a fika or drink, in Falun I might be able to host again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love the idea and have had mainly good experiences. I do have a couple of reservations though - I hate talking about how interesting "Swedish culture" is and how it differs from yours (it doesn't), noticeable language barriers make conversation pretty boring most of the time, and a sense of humor is a must. Apart from that, I think CS is a great idea and I like the way it connects people to one another. I enjoy getting to know people beyond the positive positive first beer, but I realize that sometimes you have to go through the "what do you work with/what are you studying?" bit to get there. I'm no longer afraid of finding out we have nothing in common and leaving it there.

Interests

I enjoy making music with people. I play the trombone, guitar, a little banjo and drums. I also like (trying) to make electronic music with drum machines and synths, which is my main creative interest at the moment. I've recently discovered board games and I think it's really fun to get a group together to play.

Music, Movies, and Books

On my trip up from Stockholm I listened to Bruce Springsteen, Crystal Castles and Djedjotronic. The best concert I've been to in a long time was Billy Bragg's at Nalen this year. Jag lyssnar också mycket på progg.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wish I had done something actually amazing. I'll have to work on this one..
