ABOUT ME

I always want to learn more about this world - and there's no better way to do that than thru travelling. I work as a journalist - the past couple of years I was based in Stuttgart, in the southwestern part of Germany. Originally I am from a small village 1,5 hours from Berlin.
Currently my wife Dörte and I have taken some time off from our jobs and are travelling the world. We have started our journey in mid-November 2013 in Nairobi (Kenya), travelled all the way down to South Africa (March 2014) and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to South America (Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, now Peru). We´ve been enjoying our journey so far really much and have met already a lot of great people. Many of those contacts lead to articles for my travel-column for the German newspaper. Because also during my travels I am trying to cover what's truly moving and concerning the local people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted great couchsurfers in Stuttgart. We spent a lot of time together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Was in Dar es Salaam, Washington D.C., in NYC, in Olomouc (Czech Republic) and in several beautiful Polish cities (Cracow, Wroclaw, Torun). Wherever I went, I had wonderful hosts. Together we explored the cities! Some of the most remarkable travel experiences of my life I had because of couchsurfing.
