About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do good work

ABOUT ME

I like languages and good ideas.

I like the ocean, I want to be salty and sandy at the beach as much as I can, riding waves surfing/skimming is the best. I have also been scuba diving a few times, but I don't have much experience.

I like couchsurfing because it's a great way to experience more of... everything. New people, new food, new places, new countries, new languages, and when seeing how different it is, you find your equilibrium in it.

PHILOSOPHY

It's important to know which ideas are right.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." ~Mark Twain

My grandfather had this quote cut out and taped to his refrigerator, and I always liked it. Also as an American, Mark Twain was pretty cool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I let people stay with me if I'm able to, and I love my hometown a lot. I can tell you the best beaches, restaurants and most beautiful places in Santa Barbara!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met up with many amazing, and amazingly hospitable people in England, Japan, and Taiwan, not all through this site.

Interests

I love the beach. Skimboarding, sailing. Hiking in mountains, relaxing near water.

Music, Movies, and Books

If it's music, I've got an opinion about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen spiders as big as my face in Taiwan. Different typhoons in Tokyo and Taipei in the same week.

The majesty of Taroko Gorge in Hualien, the blue of the Pacific on the East Coast of Taiwan, and the lights of Taipei by night from the tallest building in the world (at the time).

Climbed the tops of mountain peaks in the Alps in Chamonix, France, seen the melting glaciers with my own eyes, and taken a cable car from a mountain top in France to a mountain top in Italy.

And playing, swimming and skimboarding in glowing, phosphorescent algae water in Santa Barbara, California.

I also survived a broken leg (double fracture!) which happened while playing soccer in Korea. Couldn't walk, couldn't talk.

Teach, Learn, Share

I got skills. I am an athlete, a chef, a photographer, a linguist, a singer, a navigator, and a student of the world around me. When I don't know how to do something, I can look it up on wikipedia or youtube :P
