About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ticking that 'dissertation done' box and finally enjoy summer.

ABOUT ME

Hello there. I'm Alessandro, I'm 27 and based in Edinburgh Scotland - soon though on my way to Lyon, France!I'm a sincere person and I'm trying to live for the day, if that is actually possible.I really get on with most people and can always find something I appreciate about those around me.Generally those I get on with, I get on with very well (those I don't, I can tell it pretty soon ;) )If I have a profile here it's because I love discovering different cultures not by spending my nights in a hotel room but by getting to know locals and their lifestyles, spending my time outside and moving.I like exchanging ideas and sharing interests, talking, having a few drinks and good times out, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. That's what I'm trying to do any time i get to host/be hosted from one of you couchsurfers. I'm not the sophisticated kind nor the pretentious one, it's you who will have the final word about me though!

PHILOSOPHY

I try not to take things too seriously, and that's always where I start from.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing, helping people as much as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first ever CS experience was Liverpool in 2008, and it feels like eons ago already! Good memories started piling up since then and I hosted folks wherever I lived, either in different places around Italy or in Scotland, where I am at the moment.I also surfed a few couches around Europe at different times, mostly in France, UK and Ireland, Belgium.

Interests

I like culture, I like good music, I like sports, I like good food. If you like any of these chances are I'll like you too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I wouldn't want to live in a world where The Clash, Arcade Fire and The Gaslight Anthem never existed. These bands top my list of inspirations, some others might join that special place from time to time.Film, I really like Godard, Fellini, Polanski, Hitchcock, Woody Allen, the Coen Bros, old De Palma.Writers: Beckett, Ionesco, Joyce, Hemingway, Joyce, TS Eliot, Ungaretti, Pirandello, Baudelaire, Villon. You can probably tell I'm a man of the 20th century.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched a glass exploding and shattering in a thousand pieces without even touching it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll always want to talk music and I'll always want to talk culture. I'll always want to talk nonsense. I could even teach you some of my infamous recipes (mostly simple but decent ways to cook pasta and cakes). I'll always be up for learning anything you might want to teach me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, United Kingdom
