About Me

CURRENT MISSION

*to sail around the world*

ABOUT ME

...
My father would say I'm stuborne like a donkey. That's something I would have to agree with him. If I really, really, really want something I would do everything and more to get it. Few years ago I discovered the joy of traveling and since than I have tried to find a way how to work and travel at the same time. When all the pieces came together - I was on the ship. Cruise ship. Currently I am working on the ship called Symphony and although it's hard work I get to see parts of the world I could never be able to go, not even in my wildest dreams. That is the experience of a lifetime. I love it, I like it, I enjoy it.

Also, I am daydreaming all the time... My favorite place to live in would probably be Narnia, and I'd be more than happy to receive my Hogwarts, school of Witchcraft and Wizardy acceptance letter. And I'd rather spend my vacations in Santa's village than anywhere else in this world.

And most important in my life is my 9-year old daughter Laura. She is my reason to live.

PHILOSOPHY

If you want something - go and get it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a host.
I'm a surfer.
I like to organize gatherings.
I like to attend gatherings.
And I will try to be/do that as often as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted more than I surfed, and a lot of times I've organized a CS meeting in Osijek and once in Venice together with my best friend. And experience was always wonderful. In my opinion - with CS you get much more than just beeing a tourist. You get friends.

And I like this flag counter, it's so cute. :)

Interests

Backpacking, CouchSurfing, Traveling, sometimes HitchHiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: various.Colbie Caillat, Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova, Jamie Woon, Adele, some Croatian bands and singers, also Michael Buble, some Johnny Cash songs, and so on.

Movies: Harry Potter, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, The Lake House, The Notebook, The Lucky One, People Like Us, Into The Wild, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, Charlie St. Cloud, Remember Me, Shawshank Redemption, The Illusionist, How To Train Your Dragon............... It's a big list, from drama, comedy, romance to thriller. But no horrors, please. I watched Exorcism of Emily Rose and I will never watch horror again. And I do loooove Marvel movies!

And about books: Cecelia Ahern is my favorite these days. Yeah, I'm a fan of romance novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are quite a few things I would mention.

For years and years I was dreaming of going to Alaska, to see that nature, and finally I got my wish coming true. I was flying above Ketchikan with a seaplane, and the view is something I am keeping in my mind like a screensaver.

Than, I saw dolphins one morning jumping all around the ship. It was simply amazing. They gave me enough positive energy for a few days!

Sunrises and sunsets... I know, it's a cliches, but still, seeing every morning Sun going up and every evening all the colors of sunset... So romantic. That is one of my favorite moments while working on the ship.

On Bora Bora my friends and me went for Aqua Safari ~ OceanWalk. Literally, we've been walking on the ground in the Pacific ocean, with huge helmets on our heads, with beautuful fish swimming around us. We were finding Nemo among the corals. An experience of a lifetime.

Seriously, who goes on Antarctica? I do. For a week the ship was cruising around this continent. I have been on open deck every single moment I was off duty observing the icebergs. Seeing penguins swimming... Oh, I was happy as a small child. The scenery is simply stunning and I have no words to describe it.

Crossing Drake's Passage... Gosh, to cross the roughest sea in the world during Christmas and than again on New Years Eve is one amazing thing I've done.

Who had a birthday twice in one year? I had. We were crossing International Date Line and I was the lucky one whose birthday was two days in a row. And as I am writing this we are Crossing International Date Line again, but this time we don't have tomorrow - we have The Day After Tomorrow.

Sailing through Norwegian fjords, Chilean fjords and New Zealand's fjords... Beautiful.

Ecquator crossing - twice!

Elephant ride on Bali... Rice fields, too.

Playing with tigers on Thailand.

I know I wrote more than one thing but I just couldn't stop myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to make a 10-minute cake! And it's delicious!
And you could teach me how to... I don't know. Surprise me!
