About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To journey through Europe- meet the people, learn the culture and have the TRIP OF A LIFETIME! :)

ABOUT ME

UPDATE:

When I returned from my 3 month adventure in Europe last year, I had hoped to invite couch surfers to stay at my house in Charlotte, but I became a rolling stone! I've traveled my home state of North Carolina from the Appalachian Mountains to our beautiful coast and enjoyed the beaches, I've been to New York City connecting with old and new friends and driving East to West across our entire country including a Northern swing through Minnesota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Some of the best to times, visiting couch surfing friends I met who hosted me so graciously in Europe and having them visit me during my short stays at home.

I'll be returning to Europe in October and am looking forward to meeting new people through Couchsurfing and hopefully, reconnecting with those who have become friends!

My plans when I return to the United States are still up in the air, but I will always be looking for an opportunity to see if I can have a place that will allow me to provide the same wonderful company, comfort and friendship I receive when I'm traveling abroad

A little about myself:
I am a student at The Boston Conservatory of Music where I study Musical Theatre - which is a fancy way to say Singing, Acting and Dancing. Half-way through my second year of college, I decided to take a year off and explore other specialties.

I spent a summer living in Washington D.C. teaching acting to 5-7 year olds. This experience included the discovery that I have an interest in working with children. When I returned home to Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, I auditioned for and was cast in a professional acting role! The show was performed at The Children's Theatre of Charlotte. For the first time, I was getting paid to be an actor, which I LOVE, and was performing for audiences made up mostly of children. So, I was combining the things I enjoy into one!

The year has held more surprises - including teaching an acting class where I directed and produced my first show with a terrific cast.

This year away from school is providing me the opportunity to explore as many different professions as possible. I adore fashion, so I got a job at a women’s clothing and accessories store called Anthropologie.

Now comes the most exciting adventure - I am embarking on a three month journey of Europe! My research led me to CouchSurfing and I think it’s going to be a GREAT way to personalize my travels and then when I return, invite people to stay with me to continue meeting people and expanding my world.

I want to have fun in life, experience every possible thing that I can, be immersed in different cultures - whether they are in my hometown or across the world.

My perspective is that anyone can go to Europe and have a cultural experience, but the reason that I want to CouchSurf is to meet the people who create and ARE the culture!

Fun facts about me:

* I lived in New York City for two years and attended The Professional Performing Arts School
* I have also lived in Washington DC, Chicago, Illinois and Boston, Massachusetts
* I have two dogs named Hilda and Skippy - they are mixed breed but mostly Australian Shepherd
* I went to Europe with my mom the summer before college for 3 weeks and we visited Paris, London, and Salzburg
* I am an avid photographer
* I want to become a Pure Barre instructor. Pure Barre is an amazing pilates based, yoga and ballet exercise program, look it up! http://www.purebarre.com
*When I was 12 years old, I auditioned for “American Idol Juniors” and made it to the 2nd round... Ask me what I sang :)

Beyond all this, I love people. I have spent much of my life traveling to and living in different places. This has added so much value to my life, and now I can't wait to see what Europe holds!

PHILOSOPHY

I live life to the fullest! If I am not 95.5% happy where I am, I find a way to get 100% happy or I move on. I crave change, new adventures, people and places. I am driven and am always on the look out for ways that I can contribute to enhance society.
