Overview
About Me
Born in Lisbon. Half-Portuguese, Half Brazillian. Raised between Lisbon and Mozambique. Then Prague for a while.
I like to read, cook, exercise, farm and build communities (I'm an aspiring permaculturist) and write angry letters to Monsanto, Lil' Wayne or the NSA.
I'm a broad-reading, no-meat-eating, no-time-wasting, polyglot-aspiring, journey-craving, small-pleasure-apreciating kind of guy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not sure, been here for years, this is pretty fun :)
Interests
Good Stories, Good Music, Good Books, Good Movies, Good Food, Good People and Good Times
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Life of Pi, Samsara, Fight Club, 300, District 9, Dancer in the Dark, Amelie, Monty Python, Howl's Moving Castle, City of God, Interstellar, Captain Fantastic.
Books: The hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Siddharta, V for Vendetta (the comic), Sleepwaking Land by Mia Couto, The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, and anything written by Tolkien.
Music: I listen to everything and I'm just incapable to choose between the literally thousands of songs or tracks or musical genres I've come to love. I'll just lend you my Ipod... seriously! It's too much friggin music! I don't even understand the question "favourite musician?" anymore! :(
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have hugged an elephant
I have seen a manta ray
I have relaxed in a hot tub under a northern light.
I have meditated on top of a hill in the heart of Swaziland, and was joined by a parrot that was waddling by and stuck around near me, just chillin'.
I have given a hug and a plate of food to a complete stranger on Christmas eve.
I nearly drowned 5 times in my life but always made it (given the odds, I have come to believe I definitely will not die at sea.)
I was the yougest member of a drum orchestra.
I once danced a short tango on a bridge in Prague.
I once dançed and splashed around in the Danube fully clothed for no apparent reason other than I felt like it.
I once danced kuduro so hard I got free drinks for the rest of the night from the manager of the nightclub.
I once got into a nightclub for a halloween party by saying "I'm not really 15, this is just my "kid" costume. I'm actually 21!"
I have serenaded a hill and a herd of cows while I was trying to hitch a ride in the rain and I was getting kinda bored... They listened.
I have survived a polish village wedding (if you don't see why that is awesome, may I suggest you go to one and see how well you fare)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I collect life hacks, good habits, stories, mind tricks and tidbits of wisdom. They go from quick and useful yoga exercises, cleansing rituals and self-control tactics to how to tie a keffiyeh, how to make a truly excellent cup of tea, and how to get kicked out of a club creatively.
I will share all this "wisdom" with you.
I can also tell you anything you want to know about the places where I've lived in case you want to go there.
I'm an aspiring gourmand vegetarian, and a sensory voratious eater. I can make food taste good without using a gram of bacon (they said I was mad, but I showed them!!).
I give a mean back-rub (seriously, I had classes xD )
