About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just moved out of my own place... Next destination: Montpellier, France

ABOUT ME

Hi all,

I'm a 24-year-old student from Berlin. I live in the central area in an appartment with two rooms and a nice, medium large kitchen which substitutes the living room. We are sometimes able to host people (up to four in urgent cases, but two guests are more appropriate concerning the dimensions of the flat). Our guests sleep on a large couch which can be extended to a bed for 2 persons. We also have an additional matress for two more, and all surfers should be equipped with a sleeping bag.
I've just finished my Bachelor's degree here at the Math department at the Technical University Berlin. My next big plan is to live in Montpellier, France, and spend an Erasmus exchange semester down there from the beginning of September.
I am a helpful, respectful, and humorous person,

I love meeting new people and enjoy inspiring conversations.
This is part of my motivation of joining Couchsurfing. To my mind, among the most memorizable moments one can have are those moments experienced with people met by chance while travelling. Being lost, I met lovely people whose hospitality or friendliness tore down every language border we might have had.
Couchsurfing is all about trust and sharing the idea of being one big international community who can help each other and thus make most inspiring journeys possible.
I appreciate becoming a part of this community.

PHILOSOPHY

"Trust yourself and make the best of every day."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mainly participate as a surfer because my couch only serves for power naps unless you're smaller than 1.30m.
Yet, in our flat we also host people, check out my flatmate's (Richard) profile for contact and references.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Speaking for our entire flat, we've been hosting CouchSurfers from quite some different places all over the world since the beginning of 2011.

Interests

In my free time, I enjoy making music at every occasion, including acoustic guitar sessions in the park, giving concerts with a band and singing some evergreen under the shower.
I appreciate making music together. I'm especially interested in the sound of my acoustic guitar right now. It's a real challenge to play, but also more relaxed because you can leave all concerns about amplification and effects behind you. I'm a beginner at Jazz melodies and improvisation.
Besides, I'm addicted to cycling everywhere in the city. My old-fashioned red Italian racing bike which I got from a flea market is maybe my most beloved possessing.
The kinds of sports which really attract me
are Basketball and Climbing which I'm doing more or less frequently. Due to a severe accident, I have to take a six-months break which lasts up to this particular moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate all movies, music, or books to which I can develop an emotional connection of any kind ( but perhaps this is a bit too general).
Let's start with music: I love the music by Manu Chao, Bob Marley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimi Hendrix, all kinds of acoustic guitar sounds (including classical guitar etc.), Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, but also more heavy stuff like Incubus (who indeed became a lot softer like all popular groups over time), also World Music like Balkan music or the chanson sang by Zaz. Actually that's already a lot of different styles, but this is what I'm like and what someone else might call either curious, diversive or indecisive ...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you play your first two chords on the guitar (and about 300 more, but let's keep it basic at the beginning).
I can play the didgeridoo a bit, maybe you also want to learn the technique of circular breathing.
I could go climbing with you. I have been doing it myself for two years now.
I could even show you how to belay another person at climbing, but my recent experience tells me that you'd rather learn this in a professional course.
