About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get to know some crazy folks!

ABOUT ME

I am a german student and just came back from a tour through south-east asia. Before I've been studying at Zhejiang Daxue in China what was a bit boring. That's why I traveled afterwards: I wanted to make great new experiences, meet funny and friendly people, make friends and learn about local cultures.
I really don't want to travel like everybody else, sitting alone or with somebody I already know in a hotel room and drink or do something stupid. I want to get to know local people and culture to experience how it really is to live in the country I visit.
I think that being a tourist is good for the visited countries and people and I want to be a tourist who cares about human rights and has an eye on what is going wrong in a country. Consequently I try not to support prostitution, child labour, exploitation or any criminal activities that harm people and increase the gap between rich and poor. This has become a very important philosophy for my traveling especially in Thailand.
I am a funny and open person who will accompany you to go to a museum as well as to go to a half legal underground party! I am open to almost every travel-related experience and I don't judge on people too quickly!

PHILOSOPHY

I want to learn from my own mistakes and try to not repeat them. I want to be open and let life come as it comes (although this can be very challenging!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before I registered at couchsurfing I stayed in hostels or made friends with people and stayed at teir places.
Now I already couchsurfed 4 different couches in 3 different cities (all in Japan) and I met great people. I definitely want to give something back to the community by hosting people in Berlin now!

Interests

Traveling (of course), books, movies, culture and clash of cultures, languages, cultural and ethnic minorities and of course I'm interested in meeting people!

Books:
I LOVE German literature: Hermann Hesse, Franz Kafka, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Friedrich Nietzsche, all Mann's, but I also love other european authors (especially french ones) and I like utopias like "1984" and Huxley's "Brave New World". Actually I love reading all kinds of books (even science fiction and fantasy).

I'm also in love with Tim Burton movies (especially in combination with Johnny Depp as protagonist) and everything by Quentin Tarantino. Furthermore:
Fight Club, Trainspotting, Clockwork Orange, Pleasantville, Lost in Translation, Four Rooms, Twelve, Sleepy Hollow, Natural Born Killers, Black Swan, Coffee and Cigarettes, Into the Wild, One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Leon le prof, Schindler's List, the Reader, Resident Evil, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The secret window, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain etc.

Music:
I like all kinds of electronic music i can dance to, especially underground stuff that isn't known to everybody (so it doesn't make sense to list it here), but also:
The Cure, The Smiths, The Red Hot Chili Peppers (I will see a concert of them in Dec-->YEAH!), The Pixies, Placebo, The Clash, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Muse, Manu Chao, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Paul Kalkbrenner, Le Tigre, Adele, Nine Inch Nails, Kraftwerk, Rammstein, Eurythmics, The Baseballs, Jennifer Rostock etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
