About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Thought is wonderful, but adventure is more wonderful still." Oscar Wilde

ABOUT ME

I'm a 24 year old medical student, born and raised in Berlin. I lived in England studying at the University of Warwick and did an internship in London over the summer. Different cultures fascinate me. I used to play the piano and guitar, sang in choirs and a band, did athletics and football and debating. I like swimming in seas and lakes, a nice walk or bike tours, and learning about everything...
I have a passion for helping people - I was a consultant for 180dc, a pro-bono student consultancy, i.e. the aim is to help organisation doing more good.
I love to cook with a bunch of friends and have some long conversations accompanied by a nice bottle of wine.
I also like open-airs in Berlin, good films, music and books, festivals, concerts, and I'm always up for going to museums. I like virtues, such as commitment, tolerance, respect and honesty.

PHILOSOPHY

What I noticed during my year abroad is that people are very similar. Every human wants the same basic things - to connect, to love, to be loved, to be happy, to laugh, to experience, to progress, to share. I would love to see more people embracing that people are 'global citizens' rather than isolating themselves in terms of nationality, religion or any other exclusive subgroup. I don't think getting along with people has to be as difficult as people or governments make it. I think seeing yourself as ‘citizens of the world’ could overcome the inherent exclusiveness of nationality/religion. Besides that, I think cultural dialogue - i.e. being curious and trying to understand people outside your social bubble - is crucial and I learnt how subjective everything I'd ever been taught was. That realisation helped me to think a bit more critically, always having back in mind "I live in a social bubble" and made me getting to know more different views.

Interests

Like to keep healthy through running, sometimes meditation and enjoying good food. I like the summer, the sea(!!), spending time with family and friends, long phone conservations, hot green tea and a good book, listening and making music, flea markets, creativity, and productive stress.
