ABOUT ME

After many years as a post-graduate student studying the financial minefield (unfortunately not 'goldfield') of 14th century religious poetry from the North-western Midlands, I am now just a bum.

I'm also a rambler, given the chance I go on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

PHILOSOPHY

I may be a little too contrary to maintain a personal philosophy. If I have one more complex than "Beer, foamy" I would be a touch surprised.

I'm all in favour of meeting new people, and tend to assume all people are basically good. Not sure if that in philosophy or just my being simple.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Music, Movies, and Books

I like my movies light, my music dark and my books long.

Favourites:
Movie: Princess Bride
Musician: Regina Spektor
Band: Dresden Dolls
Book: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (though it is fighting it out for first with American Gods, the A Song of Ice and Fire series, and The Name of the Wind)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaned out the window of a parked car in the attempt to get a good photo of a bear cub - when the mother was less than three metres from me. It was only once I was back inside I realised how stupid it was, but also awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suffer a little from the vice of pedagogy - I've studied too much (mostly useless) stuff, but it has left me with the need to inform people. Some people find it interesting, most find it irksome.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
