CURRENT MISSION
loving, laughing, living, and learning
ABOUT ME
I love to laugh, dream, enjoy music, read, be outside and meet new people. People have called me the "hostess of Oklahoma City," I don't think i deserve that title but i do love having people over and showing them around this wonderful city. I am fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most amazing friends i could possibly dream up. and i'm currently on a journey to try and live simply.
I am a hairstylist by occupation but i currently live in an ex-crack house/apartments/warehouse, located next to the city rescue mission downtown oklahoma city, with aprox 25 wonderful people. we have been on a journey trying to repair an old building that was once used to sell drugs and for prostitution. we heard that this building was responsible for approximately $1 – $2 million dollars a year in drug/prostitution sales. We are working with our neighbors, some with homes and some with out, to make our city a more desirable place, while encouraging our friends/ neighbors to truly live, helping us all realize how priceless and valuable we all are, and worth more than a hand-out :)
I love doing hair, I love hearing peoples stories all day long! i also love helping people see their beauty. Granted, we all know true beauty comes from the inside, but i think we all need a little reminder that we are beautiful on the outside too :)
I'm just trying to make most out of life, and today this is the best way i know.
PHILOSOPHY
Love God, Love people.

this questions overwhelms me.
books: currently-true confessions of Charolette Doyle (revisiting a childhood classic) - compassion, justice and the christian life. Traveling mercies, i love classics, anything Wendell Berry, Anne LaMontt, books on business,... i like a large variety, Fyodor Dostoyevsky.. okay i'll stop here
movies- I love movies that inspire, encourage imagination, help people to dream, i love true stories, and creative stories. but i don't make time to watch many. :(
music- "friend rock":(noun)my friends who continually rock my face off with their talent, sufjan, greg laswell, josh radin, fiction family, Ray LaMontagne, death cab, carol king, imogen heap... this list could go for days i like most genres and anything catchy..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm lucky i see amazing things often... maybe my favorite is seeing someone who i have never seen smile, have their eyes filled with joy and mouth full of laughter, a weather worn face brightened with a smile!
