About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live forever or die trying... so far so good.

ABOUT ME

I am a theatre person. I see myself primarily as an actor, but I don't limmit myself to that. I've written and directed plays, and I can hang lights and build sets aswell. That's about it for my work, I think it's the best job in the world even if it doesnt pay well.

I'm good at a few things, great at a few things, and awful at a lot of things. I like to build things and work on things with my hands though I usually need instruction. I like to make art in a lot of fun and different ways. I like to meet people. I'm pretty good at social sittuations, I find it easy to see someone elses point of view and so I get along with most people I meet. I'm alright at climbing stuff, I feel climbing is an important skill to have in life, it opens up a lot of shortcuts. I can clean if I know where to put things, and though I'm not much of a cook I'm a decent cook's assistant. I like helping people, and I'm pretty confident that even if something is outside my expertice I can probably wing it. I'm pretty terrible at some of the fundimentals of being human though, reading, math, science, the basic building blocks of learning really. Also paying attention, I'm told I'm kinda slow in that department.

I'm a lot better at interacting with people face to face really, so while you may know a bit about my skills and interests I think you need to get to know me to get to know me.

PHILOSOPHY

I am bassically an overgrown child, I think given the choice most people would like to join me and Peter Pan in this life style. The best job a person can hope for is one that doesnt feel like work, for me that is acting, it's like being paid to play make beleive.

I'm very interested in life, consciousness, the human spirit, all these deep and philisophical things. The trouble is I just can't make up my mind about almost any of them. I like bouncing ideas off people and having them bounce ideas off me, I think thats how we learn about life the best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couch Surfed a bit in Europe in 2007 and New York in 2010. Trying to get the funds to live on my own in my overpriced city, ideally with a nice soft couch.

If you come to Vancouver send me a message, I may not be able to host you, but I can deffinitely show you around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couchsurfed with friends and family in Victoria Canada, San Francisco USA, and Athens Greece.

more recently, I had an unexpected surf with someone I met on a train in the Ukraine, and my first planned surf through CS in Amsterdam.

UPDATE: after surfing Europe I'm sold, this is the greatest way to travel and meet new people.

Another Update: Managed to find a couple couch surfs in New York, not all of them through the site. Still trying to get a place to host surfers, sorry.

Interests

theater, film, art, beer, wine, music, comic books, action figures (a tough guy word for cool dolls), throwing fireballs at pixies with my wizardly powers, basically just enjoying the good things in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

so much... so many things... have coffee with me, or beer, or whatever really, we'll talk, you'll hear stories... hopefully you'll have some to tell aswell.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a fairly handy guy to have around...I dont know that i have that much advanced knowledge to have around, but I am good at helping out with minor home improvements. I don't mind killing bugs (though if you will let me I preffer the catch and release method). I can also carry heavy things... Like I said none of these are exactly teachable, but they are certainly useful skills.

If you forget your purse and don't realize it until you are at the metro stop I can run very fast all the way back to your house and grab it for you, then run only slightly slower back and you will only miss 1...maybe 2 trains.

I want to solve problems for people. Be it solving a mystery, fixing a social sittuaion, improving a personal flaw, or even just running an errand you didn't have time for. I think that's the best thing I have to offer... oh and gum.
