About Me

CURRENT MISSION

living life under my own terms and at my own sweet molasses pace

ABOUT ME

"If we are always arriving and departing, it is also true that we are eternally anchored. One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things." - Henry Miller

PHILOSOPHY

have lived in 3 countries - from the extreme tropics to the extreme north tundra weather. next layovers paris, london, nyc in no particular order. very liberal but serious, adventurous but careful. growing up I wanted to be a fashion designer/dangerous assassin. i still want to be both. i can climb trees but I can't dive, i'm independent too independent, an only child but have many friends who are like my sisters and brothers, love to love, eat drink and be merry. analytical and creative, self-depricating but confident. i love chocolate and a nice glass of pinot. I've been described as depricatingly funny, sincere, warm, generous, quirky, mysterious. I enjoy cooking for others, wining, dining, grinding, writing, movies, music, fashion, galleries, books and crispy chicken wings with extra hot sauce. I think traveling is the most important way of truly learning. never been in love and look forward to it when i least expect it. willing to try anything once but clever enough to learn my lessons for next time. A hopeless romantic at heart but a realist. I'm in a great phase of my life where I'm living it under my own terms and at my own sweet molasses pace.

Music, Movies, and Books

dictionary and thesaurus

"i am persuaded that the greatest gift in my experience of humanity has been music. in my darkest hours when the world has stripped me down to expose the face of my vulnerabilities, it is music that gives me strength. music is the friend who cannot judge, it is the understanding confidant existing without peers, it is a lover of my soul. music has taught me how to love, how to hate, and how to reconcile the two. with each passing day i become more complex and individual. as this growth develops, so to does the music. for every problem, for every person, there is a song lying in wait. a song to illustrate the fundamental truth that we are not alone. though it is often difficult to imagine the commonality of our pain, music connects us with the individual who has already lived it. where music stands above all other forms of expression is that within music the expression of emotion is married with it's interpretation. feelings cannot be written with accuracy, they can be described with words but the expression itself remains mute. music can translate that expression into it's own language, where the spoken word fails the tone triumphs. music is timeless just as our nature is timeless; without it, i would be lost."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

in my early twenties, i sold everything i owned and moved to california. no friends, no family, no job and no place to live, no work permit. i surfed couches for the first part of my journey. i ended up living in los angeles for almost 10 years, let's just say i went on whim. went there with nothing but hope and came out of it with unbelievable life experiences. so for any of you out there thinking of making the same leap, do it! you won't be sorry!
