About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Affect, be affected, and become better at living well.....with beer in hand.
ABOUT ME
Sometimes I stray this side of awesome.
I've dashed my aging with increasing levels of immaturity, laying about, shots of intensity, gazing into a sun drenched wind, and the development of some excellence.
I love the kung fu. Specifically, tai chi and bagua. It grants a solitude. A way to get into yourself. On top of that, it is also social and shared, so I've developed some strong brothers and sisters out of it. I hope to play until the day of my death (distant future of course, unless the things work out differently).
I've had occasion to make an ass of myself. Its good too. Keeps the mind humble (mainly via the friends who will remind you of said things). I'll share. On one fine flight, I needed a moment with the suction powered toilet. Perfectly fine in its function. I however, failed my part. The door to the lavatory remained wide open. Not a one in the plane would make eye contact with me. Did I mention I whistled throughout the relief?
I imagine I expand beyond this explanation, but I think its a nice ice breaker for real contact.
PHILOSOPHY
Things are what they are. Total cop out philosophy, I know. But when you really think about, you'll mutter, "Whoa! That's heavy."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I previously hosted with my buddy, Taichibum on his account. He lives far away now, so I'm so I'll be doing this solo.
My most memorable experience was couchsurfing with Liz and Angus in Vancouver. They invited us to their world and celebrations for a couple of nights. Learned a new piece of slang.
Interests
I'm fairly open to new experience. Currently, I am into these just a little more than the others,
Urban Hiking: I just grab a pack, filled with the necessities of the day (read: flask, books, writing utensils, food, camera and water) and just walk. See where it takes me, what I walk by.
Kung fu: Surprise!
Dancing: I'm currently taking Salsa lessons. One lesson in, I'll see where it takes me. The current grand plan is to learn to proficiency, and then switch to the Tango. I think maybe I should seek for excellence.
Surfing: Giving this a go again. Used to surf on wind waves in Texas. I'll love exploring a sea with a freaking reef.
Remainders: Scotch, Bourbon, Food of all forms. Live freaking music where you can get crazy to the music.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Inner Chapters by Chuang Tsu - This is where I began to think on the cop out philosophy above.
Spaceballs, Army of Darkness, Amelie as movies. All for entirely different reasons.
Music: Right now I love on Beirut, Thee Emergencee, Common Market, and Portishead. If the tune has passion, soul and fun in its delivery, I'll prolly be keen on it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Too early to tell. Still a fish in the pond. Waiting for my Eagle Eyes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd like to learn to dance (classical styles), to rock climb, play the classical guitar, and learn Chinese and further develop my spanish.
I'm becoming more inclined to learn some traditional chinese medicine. Not for professional purposes, just for myself.
I teach Tai Chi Chuan, Bagua Zhang, and Qigong. I'm adept in economic theory, but you kind of need to be in the mood to hear my ramblings. I make a mean Salsa, Guacamole, and Hummus.
I like to hear the passions that other people have.
