About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to find where profound living and profound giving intersect
ABOUT ME
A bit of a homebody who likes to wander. Maybe it makes sense then that I keep getting nicknamed "turtle"?
PHILOSOPHY
Seek out Jesus. Find out what He says to you, and then do it. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!"
also: Ask many questions, live with heart, listen well. Assess yourself honestly in the light of a holy God, and then forgive yourself and others and be willing to be forgiven. Be willing to give and give away, respect yourself and other living things...love love love whenever you're able. Be able? And be loved when able.
There's a heartbreaking world out there that needs a savior. And there's a once-broken savior who loves that heartbroken world.
Interests
spontaneous creativity, ecology, the giving of freedom, learning how to do many many things and the exchange that happens between teaching and learning, religion/spirituality, truth (i'm a Christian with questions, but I've come to find that God is an answerer of questions when we'll be obedient instead of rebellious, and when we'll let our hearts not be hearts of stone but hearts of flesh), languages, metaphors

Music, Movies, and Books
abridged and easily changable:
Scent of the Green Papaya, Waking Life, Sans Soleil, The Neverending Story, many documentaries. Stuff with good drum rhythms, much old country, anything that forces me to pay attention; all of the above best when live. Poetry, children's books (I've discovered I have a real thing for Madeleine L'engle), The Magician's Nephew (WONDERFUL), Wendell Berry, Walter Benjamin, I could go on. ISAIAH. ROMANS. MATTHEW. LUKE. JOHN. PSALMS. The all-caps means "not to be underestimated."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was a homestay student in Japan, and once a week the first thing I heard in the morning was the sound of chanting voices and instruments coming from a room downstairs. It was a beautiful melody to wake up to.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to listen. I'm a catalogue of other people's stories. More practical skills include basic video and photography. I can't whistle. Yet.
Countries I’ve Visited
Gambia, Japan, Senegal
