ABOUT ME

Currently cycling from the UK to Lebanon to study Arabic & eat falafal. Back in the UK I was working for a migrant support charity & involved in various refugee/migrant rights projects. Love cycling, swimming in the sea, rock climbing, generally being outdoors, and cooking big vegetarian dinners for large numbers of people. And Couchsurfing, obviously!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have couchsurfed in Thailand and Germany, and linked up with the couch surfing community while I was living in Paris. Have hosted lots of people unofficially back on my couch in the UK - I love meeting new people and having guests to stay.

Interests

Being outdoors, cycling, speaking French and attempting to speak Arabic, meeting new people and learning about other countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Anything by Dostyevsky, John Steinbeck or George Orwell, and I've got quite into feminist sci fi recently. Music: electronic/jungle/gypsy for dancing, folk/hip hop/reggae for listening. Films: Wall E That Pixar one with the really sweet recycling robot (I cried)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycling to Lebanon is probably pretty high up there! And helping to set up a migrant support charity in London, which I'm very proud to have been a part of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to turn juice cartons into wallets. Honestly they're great. And basic hula hoop tricks. What I want to learn? Anything you want to teach me. Especially bike maintenance and Arabic!
