ABOUT ME

I'm someone who finds it hard to write profile type thingys...these little blank boxes scare me as I ponder how I will communicate the essence of me to this cyber community via text and a scroll bar...but, I'm really into engaging and being enveloped by subculture, meeting stimulating and different people, who embrace an alternative perspective perhaps, or enjoy thinking from a different aspect...and also love having a good beer and listening to some great music. I'm into learning and not being passive about my passions, this trip has allowed for much clarity around that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS but think its an awesome collective of great people that understand what it is to explore and make connections and communities! Woo! I'm not interested in the type of traveller who works incesently to mend their familiar comfort bubble as it shatters around them, rejecting any real experience of the foreign. I'm happiest when I understand and view a place as someones home and stimulating place of existing. I've been in Spain now for about a month, and have surfed the entire time, but through friends of freinds and people I have met, not yet through CS, though I hope to experience the CS wave soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been surfing now for this past month of travel through Spain, but, as mentioned above, with friends of friends and people I have met and gotten to know, I haven't surfed with an official couch surfer yet. Its been incredible, I've met people and have had ten minute conversations before they mention they have a place in so and so and would love me to stay there if I'm ever passing through. Its the only way to travel, as its the most brilliant experience of sharing: life, history, food, ideology, music, celebration, culture, and thus its the best way of learning, which is why I love travel.

Intereses

Good art. Bad art that makes you talk about it. Music that makes you buzz from inside. Environmental activism. Sustainability. Considered and effective direct action. Human rights. People that fight apathy and perpetuate humanity. Growing organic food. Camping. Melodica playing. Jams in the park. Being a little bit scared and doing it anyway. People that want to learn. People that want to teach. The Australian bush in the morning...ok that's a bit naff, but it interests me. Things that make you feel aesthetically pleased. Mangoes. Reggae.
