About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To always laugh and enjoy life even if I make a fool of myself.
PHILOSOPHY
“I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.” - Rosalia de Castro
I have J.R.R. Tolkien's quote "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" tattooed on my upper side hip.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been a member since 05 and am embarrassed to admit I've been a slow starter to this whole CS experience but I want to change this fact ASAP.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted and have been a couch surfer before the term was trademarked. My favorite story was meeting a girl at a hostel in Ireland back in 2005. My friends and I gave her a ride to the airport since we were all leaving within hours of each other. I offered her to crash at my place if she ever made her way to Italy. A few weeks later, when Pope John Paul II died, she emailed me saying Rome was crazy, her wallet has been stolen, and she must get out of the city. I told her to get on a train and I'll pick her up. She ended up staying with me for a week. We had the best time and have remained friends.
Interests
Adventure, cooking, curiosity, reading, traveling, being social, playing darts, and attempting to snowboard. I love to gamble, prefer playing Texas Hold'em and Blackjack. I love card and board games especially Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I love books way too much to list all of them, but a long-time favorite is Les Miserables. I favor travelogues, memoirs, and biographies over trite fiction. However, my 2011 goal is to read a Jane Austin book. I feel I can't be a certified nerd without having read a classic author.
Movies: Independent movie/documentary nerd. I absolutely adore Love Actually and I think I've seen it about 43 times. I can't help but get a big cheesy grin when I watch it. It makes me happy!
I also like foreign cinema (that are not dubbed) especially Mexican/Spanish/French films.
Music: Makes me want to dance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Although I am not religious, I have seen two Popes in my lifetime which I believe is pretty remarkable. I think the Northern Lights is about the most beautiful vision ever. Watching the clouds disappear over Machu Picchu gave me goosebumps.
