About Me

Teacher and interpreter for Chinese language. Currently working as quality management system maintenance engineer in a car parts factory in Serbia.

PHILOSOPHY

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she’d say, „In this world, Elwood, you must be“ – she always called me Elwood – „In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.“ Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me. (From the movie „Harvey“)

Music, Movies, and Books

Not much of a movie fan, but I love a good movie from time to time; don't expect recommendations though. With music it's different. I enjoy ska, punk, reggae, rock and metal (and Chinese pop in certain moods).

I love to read, but sometimes I get a bit lazy and read less. My favourite authors include Ursula LeGuin, Lu Xun, Radoje Domanovic, Branislav Nusic, Michel de Montaigne, Bertrand Russell, Ivo Andric, Stephen Leacock, Kurt Vonnegut, just to name a few... Also, I iniciated a project for digitization and online publication of complete works of Radoje Domanovic (first and most famous Serbian satirist) in Serbian and foreign languages (http://domanovic.wordpress.com)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fought for the preservation of a 80-year old tree for four months. Didn't succeed, unfortunately.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think of myself as a person with many talents, although people may say otherwise... I can teach you Serbian, Chinese, Latin and Serbian folk dancing :) And patience, if it can be taught, I'm good at that :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
