About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Viviendo intensamente cada instante, bebiendo con sed el agua de la vida

ABOUT ME

I have a nomadic soul that is searching for roots. I want to explore yet strive to form meaningful connections where I am now, in the Bay Area.

Smile easily, laugh openly but can be shy at times. I like art, outdoor activites and microbrews

PHILOSOPHY

"Nadie debe sentir miedo de lo desconocido, porque cualquier persona es capaz de conquistar todo lo que quiere y necesita"

Never be afraid to try something new- ok, well I guess sometimes a little fear is good, but don't let it get in the way of something you want to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like CS because it allows one to see a new city through someone else´s eyes. I´ve surfed, hosted and attended meet-ups. I love the meet ups as they are typically very informal and have a good mix of locals and travelers, allowing people with similar interests to connect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

*Attended a large CS dinner party in northern Spain
*Wandered the streets of Lisbon with my father during Carnaval!
*Showed off the sights of Seville and some gastronomical pleasures
*Hosted a traveler on a motorcycle and one with a kayak in Neptune Beach
*Salsa danced and cooked platanos in Cali
*Hiked through the snow to see the sunset over Tahoe
*Road tripped through several CA parks with a visiting Cser
*Hosted a festival-loving new friend in San Francisco

Interests

Pretty much anything outdoors- hiking, kayaking, biking and running. (I try to get a few runs in on every trip) reading (occasionally) and trying new wines...yummm, a really good nap, reading books in Spanish, ice cream (preferably chocolate...with large chunks of brownies)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer I worked with an amazing group of people to help a grad student conduct research on the grazing effects of cattle. One of our last nights in Oregon, we went to a cook-out on the prairie. On our way back down to our house, the driver just stopped the car in the middle of the fields and we all stepped out to gaze upon the stars. There was no light visible besides that being emitted from the stars above. It was one of the most beautiful sights and it looked like the sky would never end.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think this is an awesome environment in which to ask questions and share experiences with other travelers to help them along their way. I'd much rather hear about someone's adventures than read about the "must sees" in a book.

As for learning, right now Spanish cuisine is what I'm trying...so far some things have worked out better than others- but don't you worry, I know how to clean!

Teaching...hmm, well english is the obvious answer, but I can also share some tiny facts (and probably very boring) about life on a prairie, tips on places I've been

And sharing...I would love to share a run with you (your city or mine)- long, short, fast (well not too fast) or slow!
