About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm not a missionary

ABOUT ME

I am genuine, funny, open minded, curious, friendly, and all of those other good things

I am down to earth, love having a good time, in whatever form it takes, and genuinely like to meet and share with others.

Grew up in Wellington, went to university in Wellington, moved to Japan to teach English for a few years, then came home to NZ the slow way through Asia. Worked as a case officer for NZ immigration for two years, threw that in to move to the UK. I am now Back in New Zealand, doing a masters in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Auckland.

PHILOSOPHY

to learn and have experiences, to enjoy life and meet people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Wes Anderson, documentaries, stupid funny stuff, intelligent funny stuff, touching stories, ed-wood, I love movies that capture my imagination.

Music:
If it touches you in anyway, or makes you want to move, it's all good.

Books.
Currently reading 100 years of solitude. I must profess I don't read enough books as I would like, but I read all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked entirely overland from Japan to Thailand. Flown a plane. Had an emergency operation during a stopover in Taiwan. Helped and made friends with a young refugee couple that settled in my hometown. Climbed a volcanic island that didn't exist 70 years ago. Spent a few hours in a Indonesian Police station. Crashed a motorbike in the mountains in Vietnam. Shared some home-made whiskey with ex-khmer rouge (now police officers).

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, Cook Islands, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Laos, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
