ABOUT ME
Couchsurfing appears to be broken - I've received three requests in the past day from people thinking I'm living in Venice, Florence, or Rotterdam. I live in none of these places - like my profile says, I live in Pittsburgh. If you're traveling to Pittsburgh, be welcome!
At a certain point, half a life ago, I chose to start reaching out to the world around me, and I found it excellent. I've become a storytelling ringleader, the weekly lunch-cook for a hundred vegetarians, a high-school teacher, a dance organizer, a polyamorous partner, and sometimes a hitchhiking couch-surfing vagabond.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Pittsburgh has a lively local couchsurfing community - I'm at lots of our monthly potlucks, random-interval meetups, and annual couch-crash weekender. I host when I can, and travel by couch whenever possible.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I arrived at my first couch-surfing stop in Iceland (Akureyri), my host showed me the proper way to travel around that country -- hitchhiking! I even met two other couchsurfers along the road out of Vik.
