ABOUT ME
I've spent the last two years of my life (and PhD) helping to set up a food co-op in Hobart. Now I've only got a year to go to actually finish my PhD. Time to go travelling....
PHILOSOPHY
In life I aim for Love, Happiness, Adventure and Contribution. Not necessarily in that order.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just finished 'the fools progress' by Edward Abbey and really enjoyed it. In general I read manly 20th century classics. I'm listening to more Irish folk music these days, stuff like Trielle and Kila, but also stuff like Old Crow MS, The White Stipes, the Audrey's, Gillian Welch, The Clash. The movie 'life is a miracle' was a recent favorite and I like Kate Blanchett as an actress. I have a thing for 1980's gangster films too, goodfella's, scarface, the king of New York.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The six months I spent studying at UC Berkeley in California and living in a student owned and run share house there with 126 other people was amazing. Also getting a food co-op up and running from an idea to the Tasmania's largest consumer co-operative and 'sustainability centre' has been pretty awesome (and hard work too!!).
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach english I guess and I've done a fair whack of study into economics and environmental issues so can talk about that, although I don't need to bang on about it. Can build things out of wood too. I would like to learn about how people gather food from outside of a consumer context, i.e. hunter gathering and farming in urban environments
