About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find a job, then a place to live, then furniture ... in that order !

ABOUT ME

I recently defended my PhD, so simply put, I'm a 30 year old student with no practical skills ! I sense a bright future in front of me ;-)

I have a post-doc position at the University of Arizona in the Contaminant transport lab. I came for a very interesting work and (here comes the cliché) to see a different world than the one I'm used to.
Common, but true !

PHILOSOPHY

I have a personal philosophy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host you and talk to you too ! quite nice, right ?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted for a month before getting my own place in Tucson

Interests

I have interests : I discovered rock climbing three years ago and I fell in love with it ! I enjoy taking pictures. I treated myself with a nice reflex camera and I use and abuse it ;-) Come to think of it, I'll put some pictures on the site ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I went to the movies a lot less than I used to, but I listen to music all the time !
My all time favorite must be Beck, Bjork ...
My latest albums are Lisa Ekdahl, Garfunkel and Oates (hillarious ! check it out at http://garfunkelandoates.com/) caravan palace, coeur de pirate, alela diane and noah and the whale, to name the ones I remember ;-) And two more : CR Avery and The Herbaliser
Two new addition I'd love to share :
- Black Grass, A hundred day in one : A beauty ! roving between hip hop, jazz, reggae ... too good to be true :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BGXqgglThk (one of the most reggae ones ;-) )
- Sound providers, An evening with the sound providers is really what you're looking for if you digg hip hop / jazzy vibes to smooth out a hard days work, enjoy :

I'm not a great reader but I enjoy reading Pratchet's disc-world and I devoured The Harry Potter's

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know about amazing but i've cut my left arm open by going trough a glass door. I also stabbed myself through the same arm by playing the three musketeers.

I've discovered many cultures during my PhD so I learned a lot about countries as different as vietnam, Iran, morocco, russia, china, tunisia, india... It was quite amazing for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how fluids behave in porous media, but that's not very helpful.
I can also make a mean "piperade" with my grand mother's recipe, together with "Ventrèche" (it's NOT bacon ! .. but it's close) and eggs cooked in the same plate : delicious !
I'm tall so I can help you hang stuff high up your walls ;-)
I can share my past geekiness about role playing games

.... Come to think of it I don't have a clear idea about what I can teach .. but like bad soap, I'll know it when I see it ( .. yes you're right : that doesn't make a lot of sense ;-) )

Countries I’ve Visited

Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Morocco, Romania, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
