me? I am still learning and changing. I guess I define myself by the company I keep, and my friends are pretty creative and clever. I am a bit shy.

PHILOSOPHY

Life = you only get one shot at it.

I have spent much of my life trying to make the world a better place and this has not been a happy task, so now that I'm older I'm trying to enjoy myself more, hike and sing more, and find people who are playful.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFIN

I have hosted but not used couchsurfing yet. But i love the idea and it has helped me to get out in the world and travel again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my friends' friends's friends already surf my couch. I surfed with friends when i travelled europe (a long time ago). I'd like to make a plug for Volunteers for Peace. They run out of Vermont and offer hundreds of programs (www.vfp.org); it's a great way to make friends if you plan to be travelling. The money you spend pays for your food and lodging, and any extra goes to scholarships for people from countries with more limited economics. I made so many good friends in the VFP program, couch surfed with many of them and it changed my life.
