About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bicycling the pacific coast and living life.

ABOUT ME

I'm a cyclist, writer, pedicabber and a member of a group called Bikes Across Borders. I've done three bike tours with this group traveling from Austin, TX down to Mexico. ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bikes-Across-Borders/ )

I've been riding bikes since I was six years old and work in Austin as a pedicabber. I love spending time volunteering at Austin Yellow Bike, our local bicycle collective and community shop, where I recently became a coordinator.

This summer, I'm riding down the west coast from Vancouver, BC to (most likely) Tiajuana with my friend Meghan. She (a librarian by trade and degree) is hoping to check out all the local libraries she can and I (a general bicycle enthusiast, by nature) hope to scope all the bicycle co-ops and collectives.

PHILOSOPHY

Be honest to yourself and others. Live by your word.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've crashed on many a couch and had many crash on mine.

I really find that people that let others sleep on their couch are open in a way many others are not. They're often my kind of people.

When I moved to Austin, I went to the Kerrville Folk Festival and had no idea where I was staying when I left. Someone I met there that week said I could stay on the couch at her parents' place, where she was living. I'd driven 2,000 miles and someone just opened their door to me.

I do the same and so many more of us should.
