ABOUT ME
I moved to Los Angeles in 2008 and am in a PhD program in communication at USC. I'm a Philadelphia native and grew up in New Jersey, but LA has definitely grown on me. I'm a huge music fan and try to get out see live music whenever I can. I enjoy meeting interesting people and having good conversations. I'm a vegan and love to talk all things food (a lot of my academic research is on food system issues, too).
Over the last few months, I've become a bit of a yoga fanatic.
I'm car-free (yeah, in LA), and ride my bike/take public transportation to get around.
PHILOSOPHY
"Education is when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't." - Pete Seeger
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few times and been hosted a few times.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All positive experiences so far. At this point, most of my traveling is connected to various academic conferences and things. I try to stretch my stay out a bit and get a sense of the place I'm visiting. I really support the whole CS idea, and I've met some great people and been given wonderful hospitality, across the US and in Central America.
I've hosted a few people and it has worked out well. I recently moved and my hosting situation is not as solid as it used to be, but I'm working on it.
